In a public hearing ahead of the regularly scheduled school board meeting March 24, the Maquoketa Valley school board proposed a property tax levy rate for Fiscal Year 25-26 of 9.75330 per $1,000 of assessed value. The proposed rate reflects a four-cent reduction from the Fiscal Year 24-25 rate of 9.79496. Last year’s rate was the 23rd lowest among public schools in Iowa.
