More importantly, it was the final night to qualify for this year’s Drake Relays. The Hawks will be well-represented in Des Moines, as Avery Schmitz, Natalie Mensen, Sofia Schulte and Anna O’Rear will compete in the 4x400-meter relay, Norah Peyton, Josie McMahon, Lauren LeClere and Schmitz in the shuttle hurdle relay and LeClere in the high jump. kAmx?

In a pair of home dual meets for the Edgewood-Colesburg girls’ golf team, the Vikings picked up a narrow 233-236 win over Alburnett, April 14, before falling to Starmont, 236-239, April 15. In the win over the Pirates, Lauren Kirby was medalist with a 54. McKenna Hoefer shot 56 to earn runner-up and a 60 from Chloe Everett and 63 from Abbie Schilling rounded out the Vikings’ counting scores. Claire Hemann and Izzy Lange both shot 66, but were not counted.

After a huge first half for Grinnell, April 15, the West Delaware girls’ soccer team held its own against Tigers, before falling 9-0, at Brown Field in Manchester.
