Milwaukee Brewers veteran pitcher Brandon Woodruff will make an appearance with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Friday night. Woodruff will start the second game of Wisconsin’s day-night doubleheader against the Lansing Lugnuts, which is scheduled to start at 6:40 p.m. at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium. Woodruff missed all of the 2024 season after having shoulder surgery in November 2023.

The high school baseball season is picking up steam in Wisconsin as the weather warms and fields dry out. The postseason is scheduled to start May 29 with regional games. The WIAA state tournament will be held June 16-19 at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium in Grand Chute. De Pere in Division 1, Edgewood in Division 2, Aquinas in Division 3 and Eleva-Strum in Division 4 are the defending state champions.

KAUKAUNA – It was said as a joke. Well, Keegan VanKauwenberg thought it was a joke. Maybe it wasn’t. Either way, it sounded like a smart strategy for the Kaukauna boys basketball team this season. “The beginning of the season, AJ (Andrew Jensen) made a joke that (in the) last seconds, just give Keegan the ball and get out of the way,” VanKauwenberg said.
