Just after 4:00 p.m., The Fort Madison Police Department was notified of a fire on the back porch of 2730 Ave. J. The Fort Madison Fire Department extinguished the fire, and no one in the residence was injured. Witnesses described a suspect who matched the description of Gabriel Hiram Helmick of Fort Madison, who was seen near the area of the call.
