Insect pheromones are critical chemical signals that regulate intraspecific behavior and play a key role in the dynamic monitoring and control of pest populations. Historically, research on insect pheromones has primarily focused on lipid-based compounds. However, terpenes and terpenoids, which are widely occurring classes of bioactive compounds, also play significant roles in insect pheromone blends.

DiscussionThe evaluation of environmental interventions for individuals with COPD has been limited to a few rigorous studies [32–34]. This study involved a blinded, controlled clinical trial in which participants in the intervention group played an active role in selecting the most suitable walking environment.

Lethal arrhythmias in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) are widely attributed to myocardial ischaemia and fibrosis. How these factors modulate arrhythmic risk remains largely unknown, especially as invasive mapping protocols are not routinely used in these patients. By leveraging multiscale digital-twin technologies, we aim to investigate ischaemic mechanisms of increased arrhythmic risk in HCM.

Apparently, the consumption of resistant-starch food sources, such as green banana biomass, stimulates the proliferation of short-chain fatty acid intestinal bacteria producers, which can contribute to intestinal health and reduce the risk of chronic diseases. However, the available scientific evidence is scarce and no study has systematically evaluated such evidence.

Identifying areas of endemism, the fundamental units in biogeography (Hausdorf 2002), is the first step towards understanding the historical or current factors that explain modern patterns of speciation and range restriction (Slatyer et al. 2007). Different biological groups living in the same biogeographical region usually exhibit distinct patterns of endemism owing to differences in their traits, habitat preferences, and evolutionary histories (Kessler et al. 2001, González-Orozco et al. 2015).
