PROVO, Utah — Former BYU basketball guard Egor Demin is preparing for the NBA Combine, the next phase of the draft process. The NBA Combine tips off on May 11 and goes until May 18 in Chicago. It’s a big opportunity for Demin to climb draft boards again. At the beginning of BYU’s season last fall, Demin was garnering buzz as a top-10 pick. Heading into Chicago this week for the Combine, Demin is anywhere from the end of the Lottery to the high teens.

The man to figure out who will be those top cornerbacks is Jernaro Gilford. Gilford enters his 10th season as BYU’s cornerbacks coach. This past winter, he was promoted to defensive passing game coordinator.
