A man was killed and dozens of other people were injured, including two critically, when a tour bus rear-ended a stalled Nissan Pathfinder and the SUV caught fire on the 60 Freeway in Hacienda Heights early Sunday, May 11, authorities said. The collision on the westbound freeway, west of Azusa Avenue, occurred shortly after 5 a.m.The SUV had become disabled for unknown reasons in the No. 1 lane on the freeway when the tour bus slammed into the back of it.

A man was shot by Lake Perris park rangers on Saturday, May 10, after he attempted to pull out a concealed firearm, officials said. California State Park Rangers located the man around 7 p.m., after hearing gunshots coming from a parking lot in the recreational lake area. A woman armed with a gun was hospitalized Saturday, May 10, after she was shot by Riverside County sheriff’s deputies outside a Wildomar home. Shortly before midnight, deputies responded to a call for a woman “brandishing a firearm” at a residence on the 32000 block of Lakeview Terrace. The woman exited the residence, ignored commands from law enforcement, and pointed a firearm at deputies when at least one deputy shot her, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said.
