LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - There’s a free, family friendly event this weekend celebrating Polynesian music and food!Flavors of Aloha is underway Friday and Saturday at Craig Ranch Park. Friday is said to feature a night market, fire knife dancing and hula performances. Saturday, there is expected to be a car show, arts and crafts and a water lantern release. The lanterns honors the victims of the Lahaina wildfire. The event is free to attend, organizers say. More details could be found here.

Napili, HI (FOX5) - After the wildfires in August, more than two dozen resource hubs were created by community members fed up with the lack of government support. “Savage” traveled with Awaken Church Las Vegas to help out at the Napili Noho resource hub, located about seven miles from the burn zone of Lahaina. Although the rest of the members of Awaken Church returned to Las Vegas, Savage is still one of the organizers of the hub, camping day in and day out.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - A Las Vegas charter is closing at the end of the school year, according to a letter sent to parents. The Democracy Prep High School Agassi Campus is located off of Lake Mead and MLK. In a letter sent to families, the school said classes will continue through the end of this school year. School staff will provide more details at a town hall meeting Thursday in the school’s cafeteria where they will share more about resources for families.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) - Emergency crews across Las Vegas knew exactly how to handle an active shooter because they did it before on October 1, 2017. After 60 people were killed, departments across Clark County studied what could have been done differently. Departments developed specific protocol and training in the years following what would become the deadliest mass shooting in the country.
