Troops of Operation Udo Ka have reportedly intercepted a truck laden with over 164,000 live cartridges in Anambra state. The weapons were allegedly bound for the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the Eastern Security Network (ESN). The discovery followed a joint operation by Sector 5 troops of Operation Udo Ka, operatives of the 63 Brigade, and the Department of State Services (DSS), based on what military sources described as “credible intelligence”.

Bill Gates, chairman of the Gates Foundation, says most of his $200 billion donation over the next twenty years will go to Africa. Speaking at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on Monday, Gates addressed over 12,000 participants including government officials, health workers, development experts, and youth leaders. “I recently made a commitment that my wealth will be given away over the next 20 years,” Gates said.

At least nine residents are feared dead following the detonation of an improvised explosive device (IED) at a bus stop in Mairari village, located in Guzamala LGA of Borno state. The blast occurred around 11am on Saturday and left several persons injured. Abdulkarim Lawan, speaker of the Borno state house of assembly, confirmed the incident on Sunday while describing the attack as “unfortunate”.

Ukraine has launched a series of coordinated drone strikes on Russian airbases, destroying dozens of combat aircraft and targeting strategic assets inside Russian territory. CNN reports that the attacks struck at least four airbases located hundreds and even thousands of kilometers from Ukraine’s borders, including Belaya in Irkutsk, Dyagilevo in Ryazan, Olenya in Murmansk, and Ivanovo in western Russia.
