On Thursday, American Airlines rolled out the red carpet for passengers at Charlotte Douglas Airport who were embarking on its inaugural flight to Athens, Greece.     CATAWBA CO., – The names and charges are piling up in the Catawba County house party mass shooting investigation. Detectives have so far named eight people they say are connected to the deadly event. Those people face charges ranging from attempted murder to accessory after the fact to promoting underage drinking. One man died and 11 people were hurt early Sunday morning when gunfire erupted at the house party.

    CATAWBA CO., N.C. – A Catawba County judge set a bond of $200,000 for a 20-year-old attempted murder suspect charged in connection to a deadly house party. Authorities say Garon Killian fired shots into a crowd early Sunday morning, killing one person and injuring 11 others. Law enforcement agencies are outraged at the bond amount, which was set against the recommendation of the district attorney. At last check, Garon Killian is still in custody at the Catawba County Detention Center.

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. – An additional 51 dogs at the shelter has Charlotte Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control scrambling to figure out where to put all of them. CMPD confiscated the dogs from a case on Wednesday. Because of ongoing construction at the shelter, and the constant influx of dogs, there were only 14 spaces available prior to the dozens of dogs being dropped off. So often, we hear the kennels are at capacity.

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. – North Carolina state lawmakers are debating whether to raise the age limit for people to buy tobacco products. The current law allows eighteen year olds to buy tobacco and vape products. A proposed bill would raise the age to 21. The bill is named after 15-year-old Solomon Wynn. Doctors say he died after complications from vaping. Thursday would have been his 17th birthday.
