Good article, and I agree that 745 miles/1190 kms is more range than any EV really needs, but I also want to see a point where affordable EVS are readily available with about a 700km range. We live in British Columbia which is 95% mountains, so when we do our regular drive to visit family 500kms from our home we drive over 2 big mountain passes, through huge swaths of wilderness, with scarce charging opportunities.

All those words and no mention that gas is cheap. It's kind of weird how many people think gas prices have no influence on EV adoption, when anyone who's studied any economics can see that it's obvious. There was a well-done study in California a few years ago that found that the single most important variable for EV adoption was the price of gas. The current President went way out of his way to make gas cheap.
