Materials and methodsAll animal experiments were approved by the Laboratory Animal Welfare & Ethics Committee of the National Institute of Parasitic Diseases, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (approval no.: IPD-2020-15). Female BALB/c mice (age = 4–6 weeks) were purchased from Jihui Laboratory Animal Care (Shanghai, China) and raised in aseptic conditions with ad libitum food and water supplementation.

1 Background Osteoporosis (OP) is a chronic disorder known as the most common skeletal pathological state that affects millions worldwide. It is characterized by a substantial decrease in bone density, leading to a weakening of the bone structure and disruption in the normal architecture of the skeletal system, which affects people of all ages, genders, and ethnic backgrounds (Langdahl 2021; Tu et al. 2018).

A novel triple helical-like complex [Dy2K2L3(NO3)2]·3DMF (1) based on a designed Schiff base N’1,N’3-bis((E)-3-ethoxy-2-hydroxybenzylidene)-malonohydrazide (H4L) were synthesized with good chemical and thermal stabilities.
