San Francisco recorded fewer overdose deaths in the first three months of 2025 than over the same span in 2024, a year in which The City tallied less fatalities than any other since it started publishing monthly reports. Sixty-five people died from accidental overdoses in The City last month, according to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The 192 deaths in 2025 represents about a 6% decline from 2024, when San Francisco recorded 204 fatalities in the first three months.

Duncan Nicol invited the Pisco Punch — not to be confused with the Pisco Sour — at the Bank Exchange and Billiard Saloon — where the Transamerica Pyramid now stands — in the latter half of the 19th century.
