While we all likely have our favorite restaurants in Rhode Island, those go-to spots for a guaranteed good meal, sometimes it’s fun to try new-to-us eateries. Autumn has long been my favorite time of the year, especially once we inch toward the peak of the fall foliage. Of all the places I’ve lived, I’ve never experienced anything quite as beautiful as the fall foliage in Vermont. We have so many ways to admire the colors, but one of the best is on a brisk hike on a crisp autumn day, and this trail promises magnificent scenery, including a waterfall.

I will never turn down an opportunity to take a trip to Vermont. The state’s beautiful scenery, friendly people, and endless opportunities for outdoor adventure make this special state one of my favorite places on Earth. And then there is the food! Fresh cheese, craft beer, and rich maple syrup are just a few of the staples that my family and I stock up on every time we visit the Green Mountain State.

Life in the U.S. doesn't come much more American than New England. Sure, you may hear the occasional claims from the South that it's the most patriotic of all regions, but our area of the country was the first to be clearly defined, and there's an undeniably strong sense of culture in the northeastern United States. There's something so wonderfully Americana about life here, from our Norman Rockwellesque small towns to the historic white churches that dot the landscape.
