    A man driving a stolen car was followed by police officers to a store where he shoplifted $80 worth of merchandise, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department. The department online blotter reports that police spotted a vehicle that had been reported stolen,around 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday night in the intersection of East Pikes Peak Avenue and University Drive. The vehicle had been reported stolen April 24 from the 800 block of Vindicator Drive near South Rockrimmon Boulevard.

    A man is facing three attempted murder charges after stabbing at three people last year in downtown Colorado Springs, according to court records. Tommy Lavery, 36, allegedly stabbed a 29-year-old male June 9, 2024, outside Gasoline Alley on North Tejon Street in downtown Colorado Springs, according to the arrest affidavit obtained by The Gazette. The victim told police he was outside the bar smoking when Lavery walked up and stabbed him in the abdomen with a knife.

    The El Paso County Coroner's Office has identified the two who died in a two-vehicle crash Sunday near Peyton, according to a news release. Colleen Baldwin, 32, and Anetia Baldwin, 60, were found by Colorado State Patrol around 1:15 p.m. at Elbert Road and Murphy Place, northwest of Peyton, and died on scene. The Baldwins were riding in a Chevrolet Suburban SUV when it hit a Dodge Ram truck. Another person in the Suburban was airlifted to a hospital, troopers said.

    New details have emerged in a fatal shooting Tuesday at an apartment complex on the west side of Colorado Springs, involving a man who allegedly told his father and employer that he had shot his girlfriend. At about 11:30 a.m. police responded to a burglary call at the Mountain Shadows Apartments located at 1015 Fontmore Rd. and found a woman dead on scene with one gunshot wound. According to the arrest affidavit obtained by The Gazette, 34-year-old Lisa West was found inside the apartment.
