A Colorado Springs man wanted on suspicion of felony domestic violence assault by strangulation and felony kidnapping was taken into custody Thursday with the help of a police K-9, according to law enforcement. Multiple department units attempted to contact the suspect around 4 p.m. and the man took off running on foot in the 600 block of East Moreno Avenue near Prospect Lake. The officer then followed the suspect with his K-9 Riggs to a shed located in a backyard of a residential area.

One person was injured in a drive-by shooting in southeast Colorado Springs Thursday evening, according to an online police blotter entry. Colorado Springs police responded to the shooting around 11:30 p.m. in the 5100 block of Derby Drive near South Powers Boulevard and Astrozon Boulevard. Police said a person drove by and shot at least one person. The victim was injured and taken to a local hospital. No one was taken into custody.

Afternoon updatesOn Friday afternoon snow began to fall across Colorado Springs and southern Colorado. The National Weather Service out of Pueblo doesn't expect the snow to slow down either, with snow expected in Colorado Springs tonight and continuing into Saturday morning "mainly before 11 a.m."Saturday night there is a 20% chance of additional snow, according to the NWS.

Limited body camera footage of the March 31 officer-involved shooting in downtown Colorado Springs has been released by the Colorado Springs Police Department. Nathaniel Altman, 38, of Colorado Springs, was killed after an altercation with police in the parking lot northeast of the Nevada and Pikes Peak Avenue intersection located at 21 South Nevada Avenue.

A motorcyclist is dead following a crash Thursday at the intersection of Platte Avenue and Prospect Street east of downtown, according to an online blotter entry by the Colorado Springs Police Department. Police responded at about 5:20 p.m. to find the motorcyclist in the road in critical condition. Officers say the motorcycle was traveling westbound on Platte when it collided with a vehicle traveling southbound on Prospect. Responders performed lifesaving measures, but the motorcyclist died.
