After going 3-9 last season, there are a lot of changes including a familiar face coming aboard to help head coach Biff Poggi. Before we get to the 2024 Niners, a little reflection from Poggi, who is entering his 2nd year as head coach. Learning from a rough 2023 will be a big key to turning things around this year.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - This is year 2 for Patrick Agyemang with Charlotte FC and he is showing out. Last year with Crown Legacy, he was one of the leading scorers in MLS Next Pro and now he is coming into his own with the big club. Agyemang scored both goals in Charlotte’s victory over Philadelphia this past Saturday up in the City of Brotherly Love and now leads the team’s in goals scored with 5. “It just makes me realize how much I’ve grown,” said Agyemang.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - After not making the NCAA Tournament in their first 46 years of existence, the Charlotte 49ers softball program is turning this thing into a habit. On Friday, they will be back in the tourney for the 2nd straight year. Not only are they back in the tournament, but this edition of the Niners claimed the program’s first ever conference tournament title this past Saturday with a victory over Wichita State in the American Athletic Conference championship game.
