This included officers from Cheshire Police, firefighters from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, and paramedics from North West Ambulance Service. This was due to a road traffic collision involving a car and a bus, which resulted in the bus then crashing into a building. No one is believed to have suffered any serious injuries, with bus company Arriva launching an investigation.

Widnes firm prosecuted by council for pollution offences over dark smoke

On January 13 this year, environmental health officers from Halton Borough Council spotted plumes of dark smoke coming from a site on Ditton Road. The smoke was observed coming from demolition firm S Evans and Sons Ltd, and the matter was reported to the council’s legal services department. Both the company and one of the company’s directors, Samuel Evans, were charged with offences under the Clean Air Act 1993.

Suspect to appear in court charged over ‘screwdriver stabbing’ at football pitch

At around 9.35pm on March 11 last year, Cheshire Police was called to a football pitch in Appleton following reports of an altercation. On arrival at Broomfields Leisure Centre, it was found that two men had sustained injuries, believed to have been caused by a small screwdriver. A suspect was arrested at the scene, with Duewan McKenmon subsequently charged in connection with the incident.
‘Paedophile manual’ pervert back in jail due to what police found in his home

Nicky Lloyd was previously locked up after authorities found his ‘paedophile manuals’, instructing him how to abuse children and get away with it. The 41-year-old was handed an indefinite court order to limit his ability to reoffend, but he has breached this previously – and he has now breached it again. He was subsequently charged with and admitted six counts of breaching a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO), for which he was sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday.

Towards the end of 2022, Warrington resident Megan Williamson started to experience a ringing sensation in her ears Initially, the 46-year-old put the pain down to recent long-haul flights she had been on. The pain continued to persist, so Megan sought medical advice, and in March last year, she went for a scan at Leighton Hospital. The results showed that Megan had a vestibular schwannoma – a rare and non-cancerous brain tumour that affects the nerve responsible for hearing and balance.
