A large emergency service presence was reported at Astmoor Industrial Estate, Runcorn, this morning, Tuesday. This included officers from Cheshire Police, firefighters from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, and paramedics from North West Ambulance Service. This was due to a road traffic collision involving a car and a bus, which resulted in the bus then crashing into a building. No one is believed to have suffered any serious injuries, with bus company Arriva launching an investigation.

On January 13 this year, environmental health officers from Halton Borough Council spotted plumes of dark smoke coming from a site on Ditton Road. The smoke was observed coming from demolition firm S Evans and Sons Ltd, and the matter was reported to the council’s legal services department. Both the company and one of the company’s directors, Samuel Evans, were charged with offences under the Clean Air Act 1993.
