NOW WE ARE LEARNING MORE ABOUT THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN HOPKINS AND THE BALTIMORE CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT. THE DRAFT STATES THAT JOHNS HOPKINS POLICE OFFICERS WOULD PATROL THE UNIVERSITY’S CAMPUSES IN HOMEWARD, PEABODY AND EAST BALTIMORE. THAT WOULD INCLUDE GARAGES, SIDEWALKS AND STREETS WITHIN THOSE BOUNDARIES.

As many as 30 people were shot in a mass shooting overnight in Baltimore, Maryland, police said. Baltimore Police Department Acting Commissioner Rich Worley said officers received multiple calls just after 12:30 a.m. for a mass shooting in the Brooklyn neighborhood, where there was a block party underway. Worley said officers found an 18-year-old woman dead at the scene. Nine others were taken to hospitals, and as many as 20 others arrived at hospitals across the region on their own.

Police are investigating a mass shooting overnight in Brooklyn, Baltimore police told 11 News. Officers were called to a mass shooting in the 800 block of Gretna Court. Residents told 11 News there was a large gathering in the neighborhood before they heard what sounded like fireworks, which they later learned were gunshots. Acting Commissioner Rich Worley is at the scene and is anticipated to provide an update. No further information was immediately released. .
