    A monster crash brought the opening race of the Darwin Triple Crown to a halt less than 15 seconds into a chaotic beginning of racing action. The usual tussle for spots out of Turn 1 led to tyre contact that sent Brad Jones Racing’s Jaxon Evans flying into the barriers. A safety car was called as the number 12 Camaro, carrying a lot of speed, crashed into the barriers and was forced out of action with massive damage to the front.

    NT Police are on the hunt for a 21-year-old man who allegedly escaped NT corrections custody overnight. Corrections reported the man to have allegedly escaped from a Darwin Correctional Facility on Willard Rd, Howard Springs about 10.20pm on Tuesday. He was a last sighted during a routine bed check about 7pm. His electronic monitoring device alerted corrections staff that it had been removed on Catalina Rd and Flockhart Dr in the Palmerston suburb of Marlows Lagoon.

    Northern Territory police are searching for 59-year-old Barry Kantilla who went missing near Tarntipi Bush Camp on Bathurst Island on Tuesday. Mr Kantilla was travelling with a group who were collecting wood for carving at a local art centre in Wurrumiyanga. However, he was reported missing when he did not return about 3pm. Police hold concerns due to his medical conditions.
