CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Joedie Hall-Holit’s was forever changed after giving birth to her son, Patrick, 25 years ago. After what she calls a normal pregnancy, things took a drastic turn months after delivery. “I started getting sick, short of breath, said Hall-Holit. ”My breathing was very difficult." It became so difficult that she went to hospital where doctors diagnosed her with peripartum cardiomyopathy. “It was heart failure due to postpartum,” Hall-Holit said.

The US Department of Agriculture(USDA) cut grant funding to two programs worth more than one billion dollars. It ended food programs for schools and food banks, fresh food sourced from local farmers.
