    OKLAHOMA, USA — Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt has signed the "Protect Our Kids Act" into law. House Bill 1075 was authored by Representative Derrick Hildebrant in an effort to "strengthen transparency and accountability in cases involving alleged abuse or sexual misconduct by school employees." According to a release, the new law addresses loopholes in the school system's reporting of staff misconduct, such as when a teacher or administrator resigns during an investigation.

    CALICO ROCK, Ark. — Authorities are searching for an inmate who escaped from the North Central Unit (NCU) in Calico Rock on Sunday afternoon, according to the Arkansas Department of Corrections (ADC) and Arkansas State Police (ASP). The Stone County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) said 56-year-old Grant Hardin, who has been at NCU since 2017, escaped at some time between 2:50 and 3:40 p.m. through the sally port wearing what appeared to be an ADC uniform.

    FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — According to the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT), traffic on I-49 is backed up north of Fayetteville after debris spilled on the road.    ARDOT reported at 7:30 a.m. that there were rolls of styrofoam in the roadway blocking the right northbound lane.
