Their original proposal was turned down by Griffin in March due to vague language, so they resubmitted. Their latest submission was rejected on April 14.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — After the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) revoked the visas of five University of Arkansas students last week, the university's workers' union is speaking out against the decision. In a resolution statement issued on April 15,  the UA-Fayetteville Education Association/Local 965 condemned the visa terminations "in the strongest possible terms" and argued the actions violate due process rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.

SEBASTIAN COUNTY, Ark. — A man previously named in lawsuits against a Greenwood preschool has been sentenced to 18 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a minor 16 years ago, according to court documents. Jamie Speaks, 56, was arrested by the Sebastian County Sheriff's Office on July 11, 2024, after a nearly two-year-long investigation reportedly revealed that he had sexually abused a child at a preschool in August 2008.
