Ever since the launch of the Goldfields Football League’s women’s competition four years ago, Wiebke Piringer has stamped herself as a reliable spearhead in Kalgoorlie’s forward line. Those traits once again came to the fore last Saturday when her five goals paved the way for Kalgoorlie’s first win of 2025 against Boulder by 72 points, 11.8 (74) to 0.2 (2).

Mines Rovers are unbeaten in the Goldfields Football League’s reserves competition after Kodee Lowe’s five goals led a 124-point demolition last Saturday of Railways, 20.13 (133) to 1.3 (9). Lowe’s haul was complemented by three goals from Jake Douglas when the Diorites grabbed a third straight win to open the season. It was a similar story in the other clash when Lewis Johns’ six majors led Boulder’s rout of Kalgoorlie, 18.25 (133) to 1.2 (8).

True players have backed Allen? These poor kids are talking off a script supplied by the Eagles PR department. They sound worse than a corporate CEO trying to spin a bad profit result

@AmericansFooty @rtralphy It’s true players have backed Allen. For them it’s a non issue. What’s not true is the board/club asked him to stand down or approached him with that.

Is lone news hack incessantly asking the high-profile chair of an important public company questions in a public place harassment? Does it justify dropping the shoulder? I don’t ask these questions rhetorically

@withMEAA What gives anyone the right to harass people going about their business, I’m guessing the harassment went for even longer than the film release shows.

So you can drop the shoulder into a journo who annoys you ?

@withMEAA Journalist’s asking questions are acceptable when the person being asked wishes to answer those questions. In this case the journalist impeded Costello’s path; all Costello did was to proceed. It was incumbent on the journalist to move out of the way. Respect is a two way street.
