His father, named in court as James Nybo, is yet to make a formal statement to police. He is yet to enter pleas to four charges, the most serious being aggravated grievous bodily harm, and is due back in court in August.

The WA Government will spend $543 million to increase the capacity of the pipeline which pumps fresh water from Mundaring Weir to Kalgoorlie-Boulder. The pipeline was commissioned in 1903 and the proposed upgrades will increase its capacity by about 10 per cent. Work is expected to begin in early 2026 and should be completed by 2027.
