Sir Peter Blake's former home has hit the market for sale. The late sailing legend and his wife Lady Pippa stayed at the waterfront sanctuary at 45-47 Norwood Road, in Bayswater, Auckland, in the 1990s before selling up in 2000. Architecture firm Fearon Hay extensively renovated the four-bedroom 1920s Arts and Craft home for the couple and Sir Peter himself reportedly crafted the lush 2580sqm grounds, which overlook the harbour and lead down to a private beach.

A trophy home in Christchurch’s most expensive suburb has sold for almost $1 million more than its RV. The five-bedroom, four-bathroom house on Memorial Avenue, in Fendalton, netted $3.25m as three bidders tried to outsmart each other at a Bayleys auction last week. Listing agent Sarah Eastmond told OneRoof that the bidding was calculated and considered. “It was one bid and then a big pause, another bid and then a big pause,” she said of the tense five-minute-long auction.
