Bed-Stuy is about to get even more dining options with two new restaurants slated to debut in the coming weeks: French-themed Badaboom and Mexico City cantina-inspired Dolores. Badaboom plans to open its doors sometime this week at 421 Bainbridge St., on the corner of Howard Avenue. The restaurant will serve rotisserie chicken and French-influenced comfort dishes and wine.

In an unexpected move, two new historic districts have been proposed for the area south of Prospect Park, once part of the historic town of Flatbush. The city’s Landmarks Preservation Commission voted unanimously Tuesday to calendar the proposed Beverley Square West and Ditmas Park West Historic Districts, a step that sets up forthcoming public hearings.

BSE Global, the parent company of the Brooklyn Nets and New York Liberty, will open a multi-court youth basketball training facility on Flatbush Avenue near Barclays Center this fall. The nearly 19,000-square-foot Brooklyn Basketball Training Center will be operated by BSE’s program Brooklyn Basketball, which offers basketball clinics, summer camps and community programs for local youth.

The parade kicked off with speeches by elected officials from Brooklyn, including Public Advocate Jumaane Williams. “I always speak as a Black, Caribbean man of faith, trying to make sure that all communities understand that has to include our trans siblings as well,” Williams said. “Let’s stand up, let’s show love.” Grand Marshal and City Council Member Chi Ossé headed the parade.

A housing lottery for 19 truly affordable apartments in Bushwick, spread across three new buildings, is closing in two days. The Bushwick Alliance apartments are in three new four-story buildings at 63 Stockholm St., 332 Eldert St., and 272 Jefferson St. and they include studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments. There are 28 apartments in total across the three buildings, according to Department of Building records, and 19 are included in the lottery.
