AbstractA growing part of the human population is affected by circadian misalignment caused by deregulated sleep, increased nighttime light exposure and erratic eating patterns. Thus, circadian rhythms are a key research area, with compelling links to cancer. Here, we review the circadian regulation of critical cellular processes, including immunity, metabolism, cell cycle control and DNA repair, under physiological homeostasis and in cancer.

AbstractThe master DNA damage repair histone protein, H2AX, is essential for orchestrating the recruitment of downstream mediator and effector proteins at damaged chromatin. The phosphorylation of H2AX at S139, γH2AX, is well-studied for its DNA repair function. However, the extended C-terminal tail is not characterized.
