Slough Borough Council’s leaders voted to sell Norway Drive Recreation Ground in Wexham Court at a cabinet meeting on Monday, June 16. Council leaders say the sale will mean long-delayed plans to build 24 houses there will finally be put into action.

Property developer Satnam Sidhu up a new fence along the boundary between land he owns on Bradley Road and Baylis Park. The council told him to remove the fence – but he says the land was always part of the property on Bradley Road.

But the group, Jeeyar Educational Trust UK (JetUK) faces competition from Wexham Court Parish Council, which also wants to buy it. Lead petitioner Chandra Kondepudi said JetUK would use the hall ‘for the wider community’ and that its use ‘won’t be specific for any one religion’. Slough Borough Council leaders agreed on March 13 to add Wexham Court Parish Hall to a list of properties that could be sold.

Council leaders are being asked to approve the sale of part of Wexham Court recreation ground to a developer that says it will push ahead with a long-delayed scheme to build 24 homes there. The council says the sale will help it to ‘live within its means’ and wind up its ill-fated regeneration plans so that it can ‘focus on core activities and services’.
