A 10-month-old Fort Erie boy and his parents are looking to the local community for help. Jordyn Robitaille and Kody Lalande are hosting a golf tournament at Fort Erie Golf Club on September 20 to raise money to support their son Miles, who was recently diagnosed with Dravet syndrome, a severe form of epilepsy. This realization came after multiple late-night trips to the hospital due to the young boy having seizures.

A local real estate brokerage is celebrating the end of the summer with a free event for families on Saturday. In its fifth year, the RORE Festival, hosted by RORE Real Estate, will take place at Bertie Centennial Park (Ferndale Park) at 4 p.m.There will be a viewing of the movie ‘Uncharted’ and plenty of activities for kids, such as pony rides, inflatables, a circus performance, live music, a mechanical bull, and much more.

A Ridgeway teenager is one of six recipients of a bursary from the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Foundation (NPCF). Earlier this week, a ceremony was held at Ball’s Falls in Lincoln to honour these young minds and hand them a cheque for $500 to benefit their upcoming post-secondary education. Molly O’Connor, a 17-year-old graduate of Greater Fort Erie Secondary School, will leave for Queen’s University in Kingston next week to earn a Bachelor of Science and Education.
