Despite a competitive, 11-8 setback to Cape Ann League power Pentucket on Monday afternoon, the Manchester Essex girls lacrosse team remains in great position to make a real run in the looming playoffs. Excluding Tuesday’s clash at North Reading (an 11-8 Manchester win) , the Hornets checked in comfortably at No. 9 in the latest MIAA Division 4 power rankings, with fellow CAL rivals Ipswich (No. 2), Hamilton-Wenham (No. 6) and Pentucket (No. 7) all slightly ahead of them.

Not many boys lacrosse teams in the state have been hotter than Manchester Essex this season. The Hornets enter the new week sporting an 11-1 record, with their only loss coming via a one-goal decision against fellow Cape Ann League power Ipswich to close out April. kAmsF6 E@ 9:D BF2=:7:42E:@? 7@C strp }2E:@?2=D[ ;F?:@C 2EE24<>2? kDEC@?8my24< |4r2G2?289k^DEC@?8m H2D F?56CDE2?523=J F?23=6 E@ 2EE6?5 E92E =@?6 56762E[ 3FE 96 C6EFC?65 :? 2 3:8 H2J :?
