    A man barricaded himself inside a home in the city’s Tacony section after allegedly attacking a Philadelphia Fire Department lieutenant Friday morning. Police responded to the incident just before 10 a.m. after receiving a report that an unidentified suspect had assaulted a firefighter on the 7100 block of Jackson Street, authorities said. The man then fled into a nearby home and barricaded himself inside. SWAT was notified of the situation, which remained ongoing late Friday morning, police said.

    Three high school students are dead and another is seriously injured following a crash that occurred during a police chase late Tuesday in Limerick Township. The fatal crash happened at about 9:15 p.m. Tuesday on the 300 block of Ridge Pike, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office said. About 10 minutes before the crash, police responded to a report of a theft in progress at the nearby Target store in Royersford, and attempted to stop a vehicle that was associated with the alleged theft.
