    Wherever you go on campus, there are a multitude of trash bins, all separated into categories in order to be more friendly to the environment. As USC continues to celebrate Earth Day, we looked at how sustainable Trojans really are. Freshman Joy Wang has a few ways she is able to practice sustainability. Fellow freshman Egan Waklole chooses to change her diet in order to be more in tune with the earth. Other students, Like Sandy Cull feel that we still have more to accomplish.

    The Annenberg forum was packed today as students and professors filed in to watch the Selden ring award ceremony. Gordon Stables directs the school of journalism and offered them the glass trophy. Gordon Stables: “We’d now like to present you with the 2023-2024 Selden Ring award for investigative reporting.”The Dean of the Journalism school, Willow Bay, explained the history of the award.

    A video taken at the Santa Monica Metro station shows two Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies holding an unhoused woman on the ground and tying her feet together after she refused to leave the platform because she wasn’t wearing shoes. The June 2023 encounter, captured on an iPhone, shows the 33-year-old woman arguing at the turnstiles with the deputies, who block her path to the nearby trains. One of the deputies gives her an ultimatum. “Get your shoes and you can come back,” he said.
