The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) is planning to use artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to optimise and extract relevant insights on air, water, and noise pollution using data from six of its existing portals, sources said. “The idea is to help the committee interpret existing data, have the ability to compare datasets, and get predictive insights on the city’s air, water and noise pollution levels, among other things,” said a highly placed source.

In a bid to clean the Yamuna river in the national capital, the Centre and the Delhi government are finalising a plan to augment its water flow by diverting Ganga river water from the Upper Ganga Canal (UGC) into the Yamuna, official sources told The Hindu. The proposal was discussed last week during a high-level meeting involving Delhi Chief Secretary Dharmendra, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
