(KOAA) — A new report detailing the potential impact of Buc-ee's states the retailer would generate nearly $1 million in estimated revenue for the town in its first full year in service. But to Jason Kliewer, the Buc-ee's presence may take away some of the area's small-town feel. "I used to tell people I lived in North (Colorado) Springs," he said. WOODLAND PARK, Colo. (KOAA) — From the treetops to the roads, snow was everywhere in southern Colorado on May 6. Earlier on Tuesday, parts of Highway 24 closed due to weather, reopening to some wet slippery stuff. To the southeast and lower elevations, it was a quiet day in Manitou Springs except for Fountain Creek, which had much higher water levels than usual.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KOAA) — One day before Pueblo's special election, which will determine the future of the city's relationship with its current utility provider, some residents say they still have yet to vote. "I'm sort of a recluse. If I'm not here, I'm home," said Pueblo Native James Cage. Hard at work making sloppers doused in Green Chile, Cage said he hasn't paid too much attention to campaigning efforts, but adds most people in the city would simply prefer a cheaper option.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KOAA) — According to the US Department of Agriculture, 30-40% of the nation's food supply goes to waste. In southern Colorado, Bella's Bagels is trying to play its part in making that number smaller. "We're pretty good with our numbers, but every now and then, there's something in the air," said Bella's Co-Owner Jason Stele. "Maybe we have an extra 100 bagels, or 200 bagels even."To reduce food waste, Stele said Bella's started by donating its day-old bagels to local farms.
