AUSTIN (KXAN) - The 2025 season was an impressive one for Texas baseball. Jim Schlossnagle guided the Longhorns to an SEC championship in his first year at the helm. The eye toward 2026 moves quickly though, as transfers continue to go out and now come in. Kaleb Freeman announced on social media Saturday he is heading to Austin to join the Longhorns. The veteran infielder comes to Texas by way of Georgia State. Freeman hit .349 last season with 16 home runs and 15 stolen bases.

AUSTIN (KXAN) - It was pretty known it was going to be a difficult weekend at the 2025 US Open beforehand. With the leader sitting alone at three under after two days, that has certainly rung true. Sam Burns leads at -3, with only two other players under par after Friday's second round. J.J. Spaun, who lead after one round, shot a 72 Friday and now sits at -2. Viktor Hovland impressed Friday with a 68 to make it to one under par.

AUSTIN (KXAN) - It's no secret playing basketball in the Southeastern Conference isn't for the faint of heart. Texas hoops teams now know they will also have a tough opponent coming to town in non-conference play. In the ACC/SEC challenge, the Texas women's basketball team will welcome perennial power North Carolina to Austin. That marquee showdown is set to take place Thursday, December 4 at Moody Center. On the men's side, Sean Miller's squad will have Virginia coming to central Texas.
