Austin acknowledged later in the comments that he knows Smith is "smiling" seeing the engagement on the post, but he wasn't pleased about the situation. This isn't the first time Smith has been called out by a professional player, but it may be the a first for Austin. Smith did later apologize for his comments about the city after being invited by the Memphis Mayor and accepting the invite. However, Austin wasn't accepting of Smith's apology.

PITTSBURGH -- Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Calvin Austin III isn't having it with ESPN's Stephen A. Smith. After comments about the city of Memphis, Austin took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share his thoughts about the star commentator and his words. Smith went on a rant about how the city of Memphis is unable to attract top NBA talent because it's not a safe city. Therefore, it's unable to sign players like Jimmy Butler and other top-end free agents. "The people in Memphis,” Smith said.

The MLB is shutting down former New York Yankees pitcher Dennis Santana for four games following an altercation with a fan during a game. The now Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher got into an argument with fans during a game against the Detroit Tigers, where he attempted to hit the fans involved. Now, he'll miss games because of it. Sanatana was involved in an altercation with fans outside of the bullpen during a doubleheader against the Tigers at Comerica Park.

One of those was clearing space in their running back room, and they did so by releasing a player on a futures contract this summer. PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers passed on Shedeur Sanders during the 2025 NFL Draft, selecting Will Howard in the sixth round as their only quarterback. Sanders, who was projected to be a first-round pick, was selected in the fifth round by the Cleveland Browns, and may have an opportunity to compete against the black and gold twice each season. Well, things are off to a rocky start. Sanders was cited twice for speeding violations since arriving in Cleveland.
