A hotel proposed for the “North Central” development in downtown Bozeman is out for public notice. The Hotel Bozeman project site is a one-acre site between Beall and Lamme streets, on the westside of North Tracy Avenue. The site was formerly home to the original Bozeman Deaconess hospital building and the Mountain View Care Center. Developers HomeBase Partners are proposing a six-story building, according to documents, with 132 rooms. Andy Holloran with HomeBase said 15 of those rooms are suites.

Travelers will be required to use a “REAL ID” in less than a month, two decades after Congress first passed legislation requiring a higher level of identification for airline passengers. The REAL ID came out of the recommendations from the 9/11 Commission, and the timeline for implementation has been pushed back several times. But the deadline now looms: the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will begin requiring passengers show REAL IDs, or the equivalent, on May 7.
