Goostrey born John Griffiths has died at his home in Byley after battling bone cancer for several years. The 81-year-old lived for many years on Mill Lane, where he raised the young stock of an award-winning herd.

Cheshire East Council submitted its final business case to Government in September last year seeking final approval on grant funding from the Department for Transport.

Crews lowered a pole camera with a sensitive listening device into the hole in Marguerite in western Pennsylvania on Tuesday morning but detected nothing.
