Colorado Springs police on Sunday arrested a man suspected of attempting to kidnap a child, law enforcement officials said. Darryl McLaurin, 35, faces charges including second-degree kidnapping, enticement of a child and failure to register as a sex offender, according to police. Just after 10 a.m. Sunday, CSPD was notified of a suspicious circumstance at a fast food restaurant in the 1200 block of North Academy Boulevard, near Uintah Street, police said.

One person was seriously injured and a suspect was on the run Sunday following an officer-involved shooting in east Colorado Springs, according to law enforcement officials. At about 12:25 p.m., CSPD received a call about a disturbance involving a group of individuals in the 4900 block of North Academy Boulevard, between Union Boulevard and Flintridge Drive. As the responding officer arrived at the scene, they heard gunshots, police said.

Charges for Marco Gonzalez, 42, had not been released as of Sunday afternoon. At about 4 a.m., officers responded to a call about a man walking through Dorchester Park near South Tejon and East Las Vegas streets, police said.

Colorado Springs police on Saturday arrested a man suspected of stealing from a local hospital, according to an online blotter entry. Michael Marshall, 33, faces felony and misdemeanor charges, officials said. At about 10:40 p.m. Saturday, an officer from the Sand Creek division was transporting a prisoner to a hospital for a medical evaluation when staff members flagged him down, police said. The employees told the officer that a man had just stolen a laptop computer from the hospital.
