BOSTON (WHDH) - The 35th annual Beacon Hill Art Walk offered area residents a rare glimpse into the private places of Beacon Hill, where artwork lies around every corner. First grade teacher Kimberlee Tynan was among the 65 artists who were showcasing their work on Sunday. “It is my absolutely first time,” Tynan said.

BOSTON (WHDH) - An individual suffered a gunshot wound after shooting an officer’s firearm while attempting to grab the weapon from the officer, shooting himself. Boston police responded to the incident near Mass General Hospital Tuesday morning. Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox said the individual appeared to be experiencing a mental health episode attacked the officer and was able to get a hold of the firearm and discharge at least one round.

BOSTON (WHDH) - A man was arrested outside Mass General Hospital Tuesday morning after police say he attacked an officer, grabbed their gun, and shot himself. Boston police responded to the incident near the hospital’s administrative offices on Cambridge Street. Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox said the person appeared to be experiencing a mental health episode, and was able to grab the detail officer’s gun to fire at least one round.

SOMERVILLE, MASS. (WHDH) - A solemn ceremony was held in Somerville on Sunday honoring those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Mayor Katjana Ballantyne said, “We can honor their sacrifice every day by living up to the values they died defending. The event was held at the Somerville Veterans Cemeter,y where dozens of fallen soldiers are laid to rest. In attendance — local leaders, families and veterans like Claude Barsotti. “I don’t know how… I don’t know how many faces went by me,” Barsotti said.

With just hours until the race begins, runners and fans alike enjoyed the final day of Fan Fest in Boston. “It’s a lot of excitement leading into for sure and then as go through Sunday, people get a little bit more anticipating of what’s to come tomorrow,” said Will Pollard, the Boston Athletic Association’s Director of Venue Design and Event Operations. Runners traveling from across the country to take part in the iconic event.
