DEDHAM, MASS. (WHDH) - Both sides in the Karen Read retrial were called back into Norfolk District Court in Dedham Wednesday afternoon during jury deliberations. After lunch, Judge Beverly Cannone told the court that the jury indicated that they had a verdict, but then reported they actually did not have one. The jury had four questions for Cannone Tuesday.

DEDHAM, MASS. (WHDH) - Jurors in the Karen Read murder retrial left without a verdict Tuesday after they had four questions for the judge during their deliberations. The jury submitted notecards asking what the timeframe is of the operating under the influence charge, whether video clips of Read’s interviews can be considered evidence, and whether conviction of a subcharge is the same as conviction on the overall charge.

DEDHAM, MASS. (WHDH) - The jury in the Karen Read retrial began deliberating after the prosecution and defense made their closing arguments Friday. Alan Jackson gave the argument for the defense, while Hank Brennan gave the argument for the prosecution. Seven women and five men left the courtroom Friday afternoon to begin their deliberations. Four men and two women will be kept in a separate room as alternates.

BOSTON (WHDH) - A ground stop was in place at Boston’s Logan International Airport due to a plane off the runway Thursday. At around 11:55 a.m., JetBlue Airways Flight 312 skidded into the grass while turning off the runway after landing, according to a statement from the FAA. A ground stop was immediately issued for all flights departing from the airport. Emergency crews were at the scene.

AHMEDABAD, India (AP) — An Air India plane bound for London crashed in a residential area of Ahmedabad shortly after takeoff Thursday, killing 241 people on board, the airline said. One passenger who was thrown from the plane survived. An unknown number of people on the ground were killed in the crash, including medical students in a college hostel when the plane hit the building and exploded, said Vidhi Chaudhary, a top state police officer in the northwestern city.
