SALEM, MASS. (WHDH) - Police responded to Salem for shots fired Monday morning. Police say at least 66 shots were fired on Albion Street in the city’s Gallows Hill Neighborhood. Officials say dozens of shell casings were found scattered and the front windshield of an Uber was hit. Troy Schleller, who heard the gunshots, said this isn’t typical for the area. Police questioned three men, who they say told officers were getting into an Uber. That’s when three other men opened fire on them.

BOSTON (AP) — The federal government says it’s freezing more than $2.2 billion in grants and $60 million in contracts to Harvard University, after the institution said it would defy the Trump administration’s demands to limit activism on campus. The hold on Harvard’s funding marks the seventh time President Donald Trump’s administration has taken the step at one of the nation’s most elite colleges, in an attempt to force compliance with Trump’s political agenda.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Facing a global market meltdown, President Donald Trump on Wednesday abruptly backed off his tariffs on most nations for 90 days even as he further jacked up the tax rate on Chinese imports to 125%. It was seemingly an attempt to narrow what had been an unprecedented trade war between the U.S. and most of the world to a showdown between the U.S. and China.

BOSTON (WHDH) - Boston City Councilor Tania Fernandes Anderson intends to plead guilty to federal public corruption charges in connection with an alleged kickback scheme, the U.S. Attorney’s office said Tuesday. In doing so, she is resigning from her position as well. Fernandes Anderson, 46, was indicted by a federal grand jury last December and she originally pleaded not guilty. What is with @MBTA Green Line (D)?! 🤨 Just missed train and next one expressed despite only mins behind. Rate of trains went from 6-8 min to 7-12 and so I wait. Constantly kicked off for express outbound. Last night train “right behind” was 5 min back. @MassGov @transitmatters
