Head coach Daniel Farke has since confirmed the extent of Ramazani's issue, ruling him out of action for an extended period. "Sadly bad news with him (Ramazani)," Farke said. "Twisted his ankle. Sadly it's a serious ligament injury. Doesn't need surgery but will be out four to six weeks.

Antony, who replaced Marcus Rashford in the 73rd minute, lasted only 16 minutes before pulling up in visible pain. After attempting to continue, he was eventually carried off, with United manager Ten Hag describing the injury as "really unlucky" for the Brazilian.

Simons, a Netherlands international, underwent medical assessments, which confirmed the extent of the damage. The 33-year-old was taken off on a stretcher late on in Brighton 's victory at St James' Park on Saturday.
