LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Jim Baker took Lansing Catholic to two state title games and won one of them during his tenure as the Cougars’ head coach. On Tuesday afternoon, Baker announced he was stepping down as football head coach at Lansing Catholic. Baker spent 28 years as an assistant coach with the school and then got promoted to head coach four seasons ago. He won the D6 state title in his first season and then finished as runner-up this past season.

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Boosted by solid pitching and timely hitting, Michigan State baseball downed Northwestern, 3-1, in the Big Ten Conference weekend series finale, winning the rubber match to win the series, Sunday afternoon at Jeff Ishbia Field at McLane Stadium. With the win, the Spartans bounced back to win the series after dropping Friday night’s series opener, 11-10 in 11 innings, then walloping the Wildcats, 10-0 in an eight-inning run-rule Victory for MSU on Saturday.

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Former Michigan State guard Tre Holloman took to social media on Sunday afternoon to announce his commitment to NC State. Holloman will now play for first-year head coach Will Wade. Holloman decided to enter the transfer portal following the conclusion of his junior season at MSU.
