Adrenocortical carcinomas are very rare malignancies in childhood associated with poor outcome in advanced disease. Most adrenocortical tumors (ACT) are functional, causing signs and symptoms of adrenal hormone excess. In most studies, endocrine manifestations were reported 4 to 6 months prior to diagnosis. We sought to extend knowledge on endocrine manifestations with regard to age and sex to facilitate early diagnosis.

Children born to parents who are overweight or obese have a high risk of adult obesity, but it is unclear if transgenerational associations relating to unfavorable body composition differ by parent. AbstractPurposeDietary micronutrient intakes of iron, folate and vitamin B12 are known to influence hemoglobin. Low maternal hemoglobin (maternal anemia) has been linked to low birthweight and other adverse health outcomes in the fetus and infant. Our primary aim was to explore relationships between maternal dietary micronutrient intakes, maternal full blood count (FBC) parameters and fetal abdominal circumference (AC) and estimated fetal weight (EFW) growth trajectories.
