TORRANCE, CA — A woman is lucky to be alive today following a shooting at a busy South Bay shopping center. The shooting occurred Friday night outside the BevMo! in the popular Rolling Hills Plaza shopping center in the 2500 block of Pacific Coast Highway. A woman was sitting in her car in the parking lot of the shopping center when an unknown person fired several rounds into the back of her car, said Torrance Police Department Lt. C Farley.

CHELSEA, NY — A mixed martial arts fighter was stabbed in the back repeatedly at a Chelsea gym Saturday, and another fighter was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the attack, according to the New York Police Department. Caleb Perry, 23, was arrested within an hour of the stabbing at Radical Mixed Martial Arts at 235 West 29th Street, said NYPD Detective Austin Glickman. "A 24-year-old male was stabbed in the back," said Glickman.

NORTH PHILADELPHIA, PA — Three teenagers were among four people shot on a SEPTA bus in North Philadelphia Saturday, according to police. The shooting took place at about 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of 33rd Street and Girard Avenue. The three teen victims, including two 16-year-old boys and a 14 year-old boy, were listed in stable condition, according to NBC Philadelphia. Additionally, a 39-year-old woman was grazed by a bullet and treated at the scene, NBC reported.

LONG BEACH, CA — As the region baked in the hottest weekend of the year, more than 5,300 Southern California Edison customers were left without power four hours in Long Beach Saturday. The power outage was caused by an equipment problem, and crews were working to repair the issue, according to Southern California Edison. The outage affected residents and businesses in the East Long Beach area.
