Some Oklahomans are raising concerns about funding cuts hitting Oklahoma if Congress passes the "Big, Beautiful Bill" in its current form. President Donald Trump has been pushing for Congress to pass the bill, which is an effort to reduce spending and extend the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. The bill cleared the House by just one vote and will soon be considered by the Senate.

Luther residents are expressing concern over the possibility of a data center in their town. Beltline Energy made a presentation to the Luther Board of Trustees last Thursday and outlined that the project would be located on roughly 400 acres east of an OG&E power generating facility in Luther. Jenni White is a former mayor of Luther and told FOX 25 the town has had water struggles before. "I think that concerns a lot of people initially is oh gosh where is this water gonna come from," White said.

The Oklahoma 60th Legislature adjourned its regular session on Friday, with an eventful final 24 hours. The legislature voted to override nearly 50 bills on Thursday, which is a large chunk of the bills Governor Stitt vetoed this session. A vetoed bill needed a two-thirds vote the veto from each chamber in order to still become law. Bills will an emergency needed a three-fourths vote.

Compensation will increase for those wrongfully convicted in Oklahoma now that the Governor has signed House Bill 2235 into law. The compensation for those wrongfully convicted in the state is currently capped at $175,000, regardless of how many years a person was wrongfully incarcerated. However, that will soon change under this new law. "It increases that cap to $50,000 for every year that a person is wrongfully incarcerated.
