A motorcyclist was killed after crashing into a utility pole Sunday evening in Monroe County, authorities said. The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office is identifying the deceased as 38-year-old Michael Crumpler of Middle Smithfield Township, Monroe County. Crumpler was pronounced dead just before 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg in Bethlehem. Crumpler died from multiple blunt force trauma and the manner was ruled accidental by Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio.
AI child porn charges filed against Bethlehem man under recent statute

A Bethlehem man is accused of using artificial intelligence technology to alter photographs of young girls into child pornography. Adam Erdman, 35, is charged with three count felony possession of child sex abuse material and one count felony criminal use of communication facility. The Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office charged Erdman on April 17 and announced the charges Wednesday morning. Erdman, the DA’s Office said.
Salisbury Township crash leaves multiple injured, 1 seriously, cops say

Multiple people were hurt, including one person seriously, in a crash Sunday morning in Salisbury Township, police said. Township Police Cpl. Kevin Kress said the two-vehicle accident happened just before noon at Seidersville Road and Gottwald Street. Several agencies responded to aid the victims and at least one person needed to be rescued from a vehicle, he said. Kress said victims were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

An Essex County, New Jersey man is accused of driving a school bus while intoxicated with 25 juveniles on board and crashing into a median along Interstate 80. Pierre R. Tranquilus, 47, of the 100 block of South Center Street in East Orange is charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child; third-degree endangering another person; and fourth-degree assault by auto, as well as summonses for possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and driving while intoxicated.

A 39-year-old Phillipsburg man was sentenced up to 40 years in prison for repeatedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday. Spartak Fedorovich on Monday was sentenced before Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas Judge James T. Anthony to serve 20 to 40 years in state prison. A 27-year-old woman was struck and killed Saturday while riding a motor scooter on Union Boulevard in Allentown, authorities said. A woman was stabbed early Sunday during a dispute at an entertainment venue in Allentown, city police said. Allentown Assistant Chief of Police Support Services James Gress said the incident began around 12:30 a.m. at Tipsy’s Bar & Lounge, 462 Union Blvd. Investigators found what they described as an “unruly crowd” that needed to be dispersed. A woman was found suffering from a laceration and officers rendered aid, Gress said. The woman was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

An employee died and another was found unconscious while working at a Carbon County pizzeria, authorities said. Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Anthony Petroski III, public information officer for Troop N, said the incident happened at 6:15 p.m. Saturday at Pizza Como, 1241 Blakeslee Blvd Drive East, in Mahoning Township. Investigators found two male employees unresponsive. Fellow co-workers discovered the men and called state police in Lehighton, Petroski said.

A pilot has escaped serious injury after his small airplane overturned while landing at Lehigh Valley International Airport. Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority spokesperson Colin Riccobon told lehighvalleylive.com the incident happened shortly after 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Hanover Township, Lehigh County airport. The single-engine plane, a small Piper PA-22, was coming in for a landing when it rolled onto its roof, Riccobon said. The male pilot was the only occupant of the aircraft, he said.
