    A Morris County man is in jail after allegedly striking another man with a baseball bat during an altercation at a Hackettstown barber shop. Miguel J. Ovalle-Matos, 30, of Wharton Borough is charged with third-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon resulting in bodily injury and third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He was arrested following Friday’s incident and taken to the Warren County jail, pending a court appearance.

    Police are searching for a driver who allegedly struck a child on a bicycle and fled the scene in Macungie. The incident happened shortly before 8 p.m. Memorial Day along Hickory Street, between Lea and Church streets, borough police said. Photos on the police department’s Facebook page show the offending vehicle as a dark SUV.
