    On June 24 the Park City Planning Commission will consider approving changes to a school district permit that was approved in April. The district is seeking to construct additions to Dozier Field and upgrade the existing track. The permit also includes plans to build a new sports complex on the site of Treasure Mountain Junior High, which is scheduled to be demolished in September.

    On June 26 the Park City Council could approve a nearly $350,000 contract to install lights at the Park City Sports Complex Stadium Field, which is used for soccer and lacrosse games. Park City Recreation Director Ken Fisher said the new lights were designed to meet the specifications of the International Dark Skies Association. Fisher said the same lights were recently installed at City Park and the two seperate multipurpose fields at the Quinn’s Junction complex.

    The Park City, Heber Valley and Salt Lake chambers of commerce recently partnered with Early Childhood Alliance at the Park City Community Foundation to offer The Best Place for Working Parents assessment. Park City Chamber Senior Director of Community and Government Affairs Becca Gerber said the survey only takes a few minutes and will help local officials determine areas of need. “This is just the start,” Gerber said.

    Over 900,000 riders took Park City Transit between Dec. 8, 2024, and Mar. 31, 2025. That marks a 4% increase compared to the same period a year before, according to a city staff report. Ridership on the three buses the city runs to the Richardson Flat park-and-ride near U.S. Highway 40 was up 52% year-over-year. The report shows the largest increase on the route between the Old Town Transit Center and Richardson Flat.
