The Deseret News is a daily newspaper based in Salt Lake City, Utah. As of December 31, 2020, it was recognized as Utah's longest-running daily newspaper. It boasts the highest Sunday circulation in the state. The publication is owned by Deseret News Publishing Company, which is a part of Deseret Management Corporation, a holding entity affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). The name "Deseret" comes from the term for "honeybee" found in the Book of Mormon.
