There are few things as endemic to Greek culture on campus as composite photographs. Whether you dress to the nines for your photo, frame and hang the final prints or steal them at frat parties when no one’s looking, it’s hard to be on Greek Row without noticing one of these giant group pictures fixed to the wall. Composites, so named because they are “composed” of each member’s photograph, adorn every fraternity and sorority house on campus. Some can even be found in the Office of Greek Life.

VSG’s election commission announced on March 28 that juniors Hananeel Morinville and Ellie Kearns won the 2024 VSG presidential election, earning 50.35% of the vote. The Sevaan/Warner ticket earned 42.42%, while the Morales/Norman ticket earned 6.74%. The announcement follows an indefinite suspension of the election period after the eligibility of the Morinville-Kearns ticket was internally called into question.

Three pairs of students are running for VSG student body president and vice president for the 2024-25 school year. This year’s campaigns include the second all-female platform and the first transgender platform in VSG history. The election was indefinitely suspended after a March 23 order issued by the VSG Judicial Court due to controversy surrounding one ticket’s illegitimacy, but a March 24 order ruled that voting will occur on March 26 and 27 after a one-day campaign period on March 25.

New York Times columnist David Brooks will speak at the Vanderbilt Class of 2024’s Graduates Day ceremony, according to a Feb. 29 press release from the university. This year’s ceremony will occur on May 9 on Commons Lawn and includes a luncheon with champagne and live music immediately following Brooks’ address. The event precedes the university’s commencement ceremony the following day, which will be held at Geodis Park this year. Brooks’ address at 11 a.m. CDT will also be livestreamed.
